Dr. Brazones’ Operation Smile in-office fund raiser has raised more than $2000 via contributions from patients, parents and community businesses. Operation Smile, a non-profit organization, performs cleft surgeries for children around the world. For a donation of $2 or more, our patients will receive a red, white and blue wristband imprinted with 'Operation Smile.'
In the United States children are rarely seen with untreated oral clefts beyond infancy but in impoverished countries, families often do not have access to affordable medical care so the facial deformity may go untreated for years. Babies with cleft palates have difficulty eating and older children suffer from social ostracism as well as adverse health effects.
